As of now, going from my starvation diet of under 2K in cals back up to 5-6k (by week 2) per day.

Eating, sleeping, training and PRAYING will be the large part of my day as I will be pushing the envelope to make a good run of this.

The cals will be up through till end of week 4-5 and I will likely indulge as needed on whatever I like just get my size back (was about 219lbs and only 203lbs in these pics) which will also allow me to get leaner at the same time. I posted a pic of me late January before the 4weeks of muscle destruction in Advanced section

If I can get back to my biggest at 225 or better hit 230 for the first time that is the primary goal as of now.

I'll then drop cals weekly for the last 7-8weeks but likely maintain no less than 2500-3000/day. For me, it seems to be more about what I am eating and when along with supplementation.

The mirror will be my guide and I'll adjust as needed but adjusting food will be done as opposed to any real amount of cardio as I m not a fan of over doing the cardio since that eats away muscle faster.

Nothing to spectacular other letting mirror do the talking, make small adjustments and trusting the process.

I'm still around the rookie to intermediate level, so everything helps me, lol.

I'm bulking now on 4200/day, pretty clean. Can't imagine 6k a day, it's like a full time job for me getting in the 4.2K average. Whole milk is my best friend right now Smile

I'm not in the ebc this year, gonna wait until next year, so if you don't mind I might pm you for bulking diet tips if you're willing to share and give some insight into foods, timing, etc.

Sure!

Quick tips:

Dextrose is your friend for bulking...I was/will be at around 120-180grms of carbs/dextrose per shake with 60grms of protein with 8oz of Juice and 4oz of water 2-3x day.

That is allot of calories and taken upon waking, pre and post workout can be used quite efficiently to really up the cals!

Juice and Dextrose has been a great way to get in tons of calories in the way of carbs for me that makes it easier to get down than eating it.

The largest percentage of humans are lactose intolerant even if they do not know it and the inflammatory response is far more challenging for me personally so I limit my dairy to ice cream and anything that milk can be used for sweats. LOL

Just some tips that I hope will help.

I'm certainly lactose intolerant, so I drink only lactose free milk, it's fairly cheap at ALDI grocery stores if you have those in your area.

Thanks for the tips, I've been running Vitargo S2 carbs but it's highly expensive and really thick so going back to dextrose makes more sense.

Yep...10lb tub runs around $20-$30 so very inexpensive.

I'm just glad I have a sweet tooth. Most have a hard time getting 40-60grms and I can assure you that taking it slow and adding more is a very good idea. 180grms is sweet as can be especially with the addition of juice.

Today will be first session and although everything wants to be first I am going to put LEGS in. It'll be quick, light week getting all bodyparts used to working again.

Seriously...at this age I can't just jump back in without a "pre-recovery, recovery for prep" week. LOL.

I am of course happy to be eating more calories.

Think I woke up 3 times last night and had a huge bowl of cereal and one shake...and some chocolate, and a bagel with peanut butter. Yeah.

I fortunately have a lot of experience with the taboo and with that, a very high RESPECT for erring on the side of caution.

It will likely be used at much lighter doses than I normally use for bulking since I am only looking to assist in getting my body back to where it was 4 weeks prior to my muscle meltdown phase for this contest.

After that, the goal is to take my shredding process slow and steady so I don't have to make huge changes in calories/cardio etc.

As always, be safe and train for purpose!
