First cycle after 20 years off and a year of TRT--is 20 weeks of Test E/ Eq too long if on TRT?

STATS, DESCRIPTION, GOALS

Hey, friends. I'm 39, been on TRT for a year, using 175mg/wk of test cyp to get my test level to about 1500. It has been a huge improvement! I did a couple of dbol-sust cycles 20 years ago in college and got good gains that I held and improved upon over the intervening years. I'm obsessively precise with my diet and training, and did about as much as I could do with my natural training which brought me to about 195# at 12-14%. It seems I could never hold muscle if I dieted to get lower BF, but I was ok with it since I don't compete and don't plan on it.

Once I got a year of TRT under my belt and realized I'm never going back, I decided the time is right to start cycling. Fertility, immaturity and premature use before maximizing potential are all out of the picture of this point.

I picked up some extra test E andEquipoise while out of the country and got myself started on my first cycle. I'm 8 weeks in and just hit 600mg/ wk of Equipoise after tapering up to ensure it was a good med for me. I've read so much that says Eq is best for long cycles--18-20 weeks, so I plan mine that way. I figure I'm not going to damage my rebound with a long cycle since I'm on TRT, anyway.

Just as an aside, I started this cycle at 181# and about 12%. I had lost 12-15 pounds after a month of being out in the forest doing some field work. I just couldn't eat enough. But I did get good protein, so I didn't lose too much muscle. I'm posting this after 8 weeks because I'm new to the board and I think it would be great to have any comments and to document this for myself. This site is amazing. I'm grateful to have found it.

My plan is to blast/ cruise until I'm happy with my results. I imagine that will be ~200# and 8-9%. I'll probably go maintenance after that and only cycle if my goals change or something begins to slip.

As far as my diet, I'm super clean all the time. I have been happy with IF for the last year, and fast 16 hours and eat for 8 hours a day. Honestly, I haven't noticed any negatives compared to the 6 meals/ day lifestyle I've followed for 25 years, and it makes life so much easier.

I eat 30% above maintenance on training days, with 50% of my calories post workout. On non-workout days I eat right at maintenance. On training days my diet is higher in carbs and on non-training days I eat 50-75 grams of carbs. I get 1.5g protein/ pound BW per day, mostly meat and eggs. I don't really drink alcohol and I don't enjoy junk food or salt, so I really don't have a cheat day more than once or twice a year. For me cheating is going out to a restaurant and eating something healthy that I didn't prepare myself so I can't log the macros/ kcal's!

Before my cycle I trained 3 days a week, heavy and basic. Since starting my cycle I've upped it to 6 days a week with 3 on and 1 off. Still fundamentally heavy compound movements, but some more variety of rep ranges and additional exercises while on this split.

I put this stuff in here because I don't want to fill in the charts below...

Thanks for checking this out. Please chime in if you have criticism or tweaks. I've learned so much already from this board and I've only been on a week!

PRE CYCLE PIC:

Holy crap! I just realized I've been miscalculating my weeks on cycle. For some reason I was thinking I stared mid-August, but I just went through my calendar and remembered that I started mid-September and found I'm on week 5, not week 8. I work too much.

I'm glad I made the effort to trace back. I've now learned a lesson--put the cycle beginning and end dates and dates for planned changes in my calendar BEFORE I start. Duh.

So the good news is I've seen some reasonable progress and I'm earlier in than I thought I was.

Thanks for the feedback.

I was a first time Eq user, so I crept up over a few weeks. It went really smooth and I could have gone straight to 600, but hindsight is 20/20. That is one of the reasons I'm running a bit longer at 20 weeks.

The HCG dose is what the TRT doc has me on. I know it seems a bit high, but he has me diluting a 5000 U bottle with 5cc's and using 0.6ml twice a week. I could try using less, as it would be cheaper, but he is a TRT specialist MD, and I don't guess it can be harmful.

Again, thanks. It is good to have some reassurance.

hcg seems a little high, I would suggest lower to 250mg 2x per week.

also you want eq to stay at 600mg from day one.

Ok with your cycle other than the EQ build up. Go straight in with 600mg all the way through.

hey man test dose looks good. Walking the EQ up like that however is not a good idea. You should pick one set dose and run with it the whole time.

edit* alright since you already started its gonna take a few more weeks for the eq to mmake peak levels since you upped the dose. how come youre running 1200ius of hcg a week? prescribed due to trt? im only running 500ius a week split into two doses and im all there if you know what i mean haha

I'm not married to the 20 week duration. Just been reading a lot about Eq being good for 16,18 or 20 weeks cycles. So I figured if that is the case, and I have the meds and no concerns about PCT other than managing estrogen, why not see if it is good that long. In any case, I plan on running test E 2 weeks longer than the EQ.
