+ 3 What happened to people wanting to get huge?

ad

I’ve noticed a big percentage of people on here are vastly undereducated and entitled. And they all happen to be running small doses or trt or just weird cycles that don’t make sense. Now there’s nothing wrong with someone wanting to just run trt obviously but when I scroll through a lot of discussion I’m often left a little bewildered and disappointed. This is all just my observation and is a generalization of what I’m seeing. Maybe I’m the only one who thinks it and am incorrect. But I do question…What happened to men taking this serious? What happened to not being entitled whiny little boys? What happened to people wanting to get huge?

Drask88's picture

I don’t find the look pleasing.

Don’t get me wrong I absolutely wish I could infinitely get stronger. I love pushing myself and getting stronger in a way I can see with increasing weight loads.

The problem is I just don’t really find unnaturally large aesthetics to be pleasing to look at.

I also am very into my own health and don’t want to damage my body. Plus there is a strong correlation between muscle size and lack of mobility and flexibility. Sleep apnea increase. Increased cost of food from having to maintain and grow when you weigh so much, plus just having to eat that much becomes a chore in itself.

There are a lot of reasons not to want to get huge.

I’ll never not be impressed by it though. It’s tremendous work in and out of the gym. You truly have to be an extremely dedicated individual and it shows you’re willing to really push the limits of the human body. It’s extremely impressive, but not for me.

Greg's picture

Are you kidding? EVERYBODY wants to get HUGE!

Then and now...

Drask88's picture

Yikes. That’s just so disgusting to me.

I look at society outside the gym and nearly everyone is obese. It’s so gross. How can people live like that?

23Sparta's picture

TRT aside, isn’t that the purpose of using steroids? To be bigger, leaner, stronger, faster etc than what nature intended for you? If someone’s not going for something like that, then idk why they would accept the risk

iFit's picture

Times change. People change. Priorities change. Just do what works for you. Personally, when I was “huge” I got the most attention and comments from dudes saying “bro you’re huge”. For the most part it was a female repellant which is why I think fit and athletic have taken over.

DeeMan's picture

You said it. Most women don't want to much muscle. Yep female repellent

RobertB80's picture

Have seen some big dudes on here stating they are running trt dose test and hgh. There are naturally large people who gain muscle quickly, it’s a lot to do with genetics, work ethic etc. Train, eat, sleep, repeat and all that bollocks. Running a truck load of gear is no guarantee to get huge as we all know. Ramping things up over time knowing the risks is personal choice.

press1's picture

A lot of it has to do with your starting weight and bone structure as to how you'll end up, generally if you know what you are doing you'll put on around 5 stone with gear in the end, some possibly more.

RobertB80's picture

I put on all my weight naturally. Exact same weight I was a year ago when starting first cycle (second if you count 8 years ago test only) Body composition has changed massively on gear. Lower body fat and more muscle, also denser. At our age I’d never get away with current diet without putting on fat without gear. Strength increase has been the main difference over such a short period of time. Squat and bench have gone up by approximately 40%. Hoping to put on another half a stone with lower body fat.

Rosschestzip's picture

Half the guys that are on gear and don’t want to get huge, are concerned with health and longevity, mostly the 40plus crowd. I think the other half tried to get huge and realized how hard it is and now use it as an excuse. You see it all the time in comment sections “I could look like that if I wanted too, I’d look like that if I took the drugs he took” lol.

They say they don’t want to get “too big” lmao like that’s even an option for them. They act like they have to be careful or they’ll wake up looking like Ronnie Colman. I don’t think most people realize how hard it is to get huge. And once they find out, there goals change DRASTICALLY lmao.

There’s also tons of guys that also don’t want to Jill themselves just to look a certain way and they realize the only way to be massive is from a lot of gear so they choose not too. I think most guys on gear would want to be massive if there was zero health ramifications

I gotta go back to that classical 70s bodybuilder look. Mass is good but not that blocky mass I see nowadays from some bodybuilders. Nah not a good look. Now 90's bodybuilders had nice mass but nowadays it's gotten out of hand and even Arnold has said so.

Notmelgibson's picture

Everybody loves the 90s guys lol also as a side note. I’m not advocating large doses. I’m advocating people educating themselves

DeeMan's picture

Yeah I understand what you're saying now. Hey man they'll learn the easy or hard way. And those 90's guys are legendary. I'd take them over pros nowadays

Thunder Dome! But yeah Lethal Weapon is good

Don't forget Payback. He was a bad ass in that movie.

Notmelgibson's picture

Doing an amalgamation of braveheart and lethal weapon…lethalheart…or braveweapon? Idk it’s one of those

Jockstrap's picture

Toxic masculinity killed the mass monsters. The big guys are still out in eroids land but why ask why? Explaining a 3gram run to a 180lb person wont be understood.

Chad P's picture

I’ll take my low dose cycles and my health over insane amounts to try and be huge and the potential dangers that come with it. Just because ppl aren’t trying to get as big as humanly possible doesn’t make them unserious. Now if your question was aimed at people recklessly running cycles with little to no idea of what they are doing, you’d be in good company. Everyone here has their own story. The vast majority aren’t doing this to step on stage. I know a lot of ppl, myself included have found solice in hitting the gym and bettering themselves to overcome former lives of addiction and/or spending time locked up because of making bad choices and living recklessly. At the end of the day everyone has their own goals and are responsible for the choices they make. My #1 priority is taking care of my family, that comes before everything.

Notmelgibson's picture

It was aimed more so at the reckless people. The “get huge” is just my personal biases coming out as way of categorizing having an intentional and informed approach towards whatever your goals are

DeeMan's picture

So yeah you mentioned guys taking lower doses and I see your aim was the more reckless guys. It's like this if you can get away with the lower dose game and make gains with less risk on health why not? Lol a person would have to be a fool to not take that deal. But to your question, social media has definitely made the lean model type look that " look" nowadays. Personally I still love mass but not the blocky look I see nowadays at the Mr. Olympia. For me it's about the combination of mass, power and aesthetics with an athletic type look. Each person strives for different looks and goals. Now of course some guys are reckless or just don't know what the hell they're doing and that's another story but no one's goals are exactly alike so that's that. Some guys do believe more gear is key, I don't and never have but that's just me. Some others feel same as me. Big dose guys shouldn't knock small dose guys and vice versa, unless someone is lying or plain reckless. Good post though

Notmelgibson's picture

Yeah bro it really wasn’t meant to ruffle anyone’s feathers actually but apparently a couple people felt a little attacked idk lol nor do I care. It was just meant as a conversation starter. I just feel like the half in half out approach can cause more harm then people think. If someone is trying to be “more health conscious “ then they probably shouldn’t use steroids at all. Or those same guys who tout using low doses will all of a sudden decide they’re gonna run 2 orals and some tren. But it’s “low dose” lol whereas when someone is all in on something, anything, they tend to put more effort into actually educating themselves and having a deliberate approach towards the goal. Just my opinion and I was wondering if anyone out there was seeing the same thing. And again this was just a generalization. Obviously not everyone on here is like that and there’s plenty of guys who like to use a little juice to look and feel good and perform better at work or whatever and that’s totally fine. It’s just all the silly nonsense I see with others. If I could put a shrug emoji here I would

DeeMan's picture

I feel you. I agree using gear at any dose can be or is harmful to the body, but let me be clear, the risk does go up with more and more gear and that's just how it is. So I guess it comes down to what's your goal and risk factor level. Both need to be weighed out. Some like myself have thought this type of thing out long ago and that's facts but yeah I agree there is and will be a price to be paid. Lol nothing in this life is free even though we tend to think so. Lol yeah you probably did offend some guys but I wasn't one of them. I've seen both high and low dose guys get offended. I just shrug too lol

Forums mimic real life. You will see there are some smart people with mythotical calculations and plans. You will also find some morons that can't do simple math. And just about everything inbetween. Its a product of society and social media if you ask me. Its no different then walking down the street and asking about politics. YOu will be baffled by some people. Or ask them about finances and you will be baffled. or ask them about whatever and you will be baffled.

I still go back to social media. I think it is worse for most people then it is better. Its created many many issues. Sures its helped alot but I feel for everything it has helped it has created just as many if not more issues with no solutions.

press1's picture

Its probably because of the number of guys suddenly dying from Steroid abuse all over the internet and in the news, its making people realise the realities of what could happen if you are constantly smashing in massive cycles etc.

Notmelgibson's picture

Or giving their wife 100mg of anavar and then wondering how much mast he should give her lol like it just doesn’t make sense to me idk

Notmelgibson's picture

For sure. Which leads me to my point of people taking it serious and educating themselves. There’s no reason for the same dudes to be talking about tren or ment. Obviously it’s none of my business what other people do, which is why I never bother commenting when I see things like this, but I can’t help but think the logic is a little convoluted

press1's picture

Its because ultimately many guys getting into running gear these days shouldn't be running steroids, most of them never went near a weights room before social media became a big craze. None of them have any real interests in going into a weights room, standing in a squat rack and grinding out some sets or pulling some deadlifts etc. Most of them can't even make minimal grade beginner lifts. They get online and see influencers sticking up videos on Trenbolone and MENT and figure thats what they should be running too. These are the same Donkeys who are asking if they can mix multiple compounds in the same syringe.

Anyway, Rant over - Look what you made me do, getting me all wound up this early in the day!!! Lmfao

Notmelgibson's picture

End of my day brotha lol anyways I 100% agree and this is what I was sort of getting towards with the post

HENCH500's picture

There’s some hench units around still but less and less these days…. I think social media has changed the game aesthetically pleasing is now favoured over mass

The guys inside doing the time and perfecting natty bodybuilding would always choose mass over aesthetics, I looked at it like who the fuck is this sissy boy counting calories talking about cutting weight at 190 pounds etc..

Call me what you want but all the big guys upstate were the most approachable and respectful motherfuckers , just because I wasn’t as big as them they still took me under the wing, I explained the AAS game and had a couple of them videoVisit their girls just to go on eroids and have shit setup for them when they left.

The cultural inside is way more positive than the average tik tok flunkie

And to each their own really. I was simply putting a question out there. Mostly wondering why I see a lot of guys on here doing some silly stuff or saying things that make it clear they’ve done zero research into what they’re doing

Notmelgibson's picture

And that’s what I was looking for was a little intelligent discussion lol but that’s hard to come by. I probably didn’t phrase my question well enough I suppose

Notmelgibson's picture

Everyone can have their own goals for sure. The entitlement part comes from reading some reviews and the discussion pages on from of the sources. And it doesn’t take much to see that a lot of people are unserious or at least have put very little thought into what they’re doing or trying to educate themselves

toddater's picture

Maybe more public awareness for the long term effects of "too much" steroids, and most of the social media influencers being "aesthetic" and not hulking titans of muscle
