What was your first ever cycle and knowing what you know now , what would you have changed or done differently? How old were you ?
I speak to old school guys all the time about this and I’ve had a few different opinions and views. So say they would have waited longer or used less mg or compounds . Others say they wasted time and should have started sooner or run higher mg.
Be interesting to hear opinions and experiences guys ..

My first cycle was 500mg Test and 400mg Deca for 12 weeks. If I could go back in time I would have just done 350mg Test with no Deca. I bet I would have made the same gains. There is no point adding compounds to a first cycle or going any higher than 350mg. I think Test alone at 350mg a week is a great first cycle. I was 24 and had 6 years training under my belt, a solid gym routine and diet, so I wouldn’t have changed when I started.
My first cycle was long before the golden age of internet steroids. It was a deca only cycle with deca durabilin redi-jects obtained south of the border.
It was a terrible idea as it nearly cost me eligibility in the sport I was playing. I got some gains but it wasn’t worth the overall worry of pissing dirty.
I took a long break. The next round I was smarter…but
If I were to go back…I would have waited even longer. I would have dialed in my diet and likely got the same gains.
The early days Cycling brought gains but as I took breaks to try and get my nuts back… the gains were small and not worth it.
If I were to go back I would have stayed the hell away from Trenbolone. Or at least never cycled it as long as I did. I’m a firm believer that 30 days in on Tren and you are a certified nut job on a mission doing everything you need to do to ruin your marriage, your career, and your life.
I firmly believe that moderation is the key to keeping life balanced, successful and working toward long term gains.
I’ve seen a lot of people ruin good marriages because they just couldn’t handle the juice. With them..I always see regret.
Change? Id prevent injuries. Getting injured due to juiced ego lifting...

My first cycle was 500mg per week of a test E&C blend, which I ran for 12 weeks. I saw the best gains I have ever seen off any cycle, including those where I used multiple compounds. I think I was 27 or 28 years old at the time. I had an increased appetite, showed aggression in the gym like I had never felt before, and I had an overall great feeling throughout the day... I felt like I was a demi-god (LOL)! My lifts went through the roof after 6-7 weeks of being on cycle, and I gained somewhere in the range of 20 lbs. Obviously, a good portion of that weight was water. I retained maybe 7 or 8 lbs after I had come off cycle.
If I could go back and do it again, I would have been militant with my diet. I did eat a lot of "clean" meals - e.g., chicken breast with rice and vegetables - but I also ate a lot of fattening foods like bacon, hashed browns, etc. Also, I probably would have started off with a lower dose of around 350-400mg per week. I now believe in using the lowest effective dose possible to get the results you want to see. Anything beyond that and you are just increasing your risk of side effects - not gaining any benefits. I probably would not have gained as much weight, but as I said, a good portion of it was water weight that I eliminated after coming off cycle.
My first cycle protocol wasn’t bad but the diet it what got me. I thought steroids were magic. My natty test were low reference range and thankfully I had listened to somebody to run low dosages first cycle, I think it was Vigorous Steve. Anyways I had a powerlifting meet that I signed up for and basically ran 250mg test a week for 12 weeks. I threw in LGD 4033 (boo sarms) the last 8 weeks and then DMZ or some pro-hormone 2 weeks to the meet. The main thing here is that I didn’t check BP so I know for a fact that was sky high and my diet was dirty bulk (icecream and pizza as often as possible) I was fat when I finished and had to cut for prob 6 months after. The powerlifting meet went fantastic however… finished w a 540 deadlift, 450 squat, and 330 bench. I reached an obese 265lbs
The first “cycle” I bought was one bottle of test prop and one bottle of test E. I paid $100 and $125 for the vials. The dude I got it from didn’t know what he was doing either. I didn’t know what an AI or PCT was, nor did I know anything about nutrition. I barely trained and was drinking and using drugs at the time. I was young as shit (that’s why I try to warn the younger folks, but they’re like me and won’t listen anyway). I’ve had to deal with gyno ever since.
I saw eroids and other forums when searching steroids online, but it seemed to good to be true, and I wasn’t about to send my money to someone I didn’t know. Took a few more years for someone to verify eroids was legitimate. That’s when I really started learning about this shit.
Bottom line is I wish I waited and really worked on getting to my natural peak. I’m grateful now that I can educate friends and even people online who are willing to listen. It’s also fun getting to call people dumbass when they think they know everything and their ego is too big to take advice. Also grateful to have access to the top labs in the world, and to be part of the greatest underground AAS community known to man (but I do wonder what the aliens are holding from us).
My first cycle was tiny, like 300mg of test e, great gains. but if I knew then what I knew now, I wouldn't have overused tren and anadrol like I did later on.

I would run higher dosages instead listening to little guys tell me I could get big on 250mg per week! Again we had zero info and no internet...just Dan Duchaine's book.
You always been one of those high dose guys from the get go huh? I agree with you though, things have definitely changed. I wouldn't of thought I'd be typing this to you in 2024 on a forum set up like this. These are the times my man.
I think the knowledge that’s available now over the internet is both a gift and a curse.
I agree though I seen a lot of guys running dosages like that and honestly is it worth shutting your self down for that amount of improvement in your natural levels
I wish I had got into running gear much sooner if I'm honest, I was 34 when I finally had enough balls to inject myself and to bite my pride about being a natty and proud of it! lol In certain ways yes, I'm glad I was older and didn't destroy my endocrine system at a younger age - but I wish I could of experienced my full potential that would have been present in my 20's rather than mid to late 30's. Would of been great to have seen what I could lift without tendons, joints and injuries affecting things. Plus the CNS is much fresher and quicker to recover - but I guess I was interested in different things in my 20's and getting hold of gear was nowhere near as easy as it is now so it would have been more difficult to get compounds quickly etc. I wish I was more disciplined about coming off during the early cycles too and got more to grips with PCT and dealing with the mental obstacles it brings with it. I also wish I knew about Orange 1" needles from the start rather than thinking your only option was Green 1.5" pins LOL

I'm 72 Bud!!! LMFAO Nah I'm 44, been doin this 10 years now. I thought everybody used Orange 1 inchers??!! Mate I always used the 5/8's until I began to realise thats why I was always getting lumps LOL Even Blue's I find hurt. I know of a few guys on here like Big Tone that still like the harpoons but I thought there were very few of them. What do you use?
I use blues bro only time I use is orange is them 100unit ones for hgh or peptides.

Yeah, it just would put things into perspective for me. I felt pretty good natty. I still beasted my workouts, my sense of well being was fine and my sex drive was actually better than it’s ever been on gear. My only complaints were…. my body was pretty banged up and I felt like I had pretty much squeezed everything I could out of my physique (as far as muscle mass) and that I was on a downward slope. I just wanted more, so I turned to gear and wasn’t disappointed

I’m 44 now so I’ve been on for about 28 months. If you read my introduction to the group “with humility and respect….” explains a little my story
I got out 185 and 18% bf and now I’m 230 15%. The bf % is just a guess, any of you arm chair fitness experts reading this and disagree, take it easy on me. All I know is that I’m not as fat as I was when I started all of this.
Improvements to my physique have been unreal. After 20 plus years training without gear it’s almost as if I’m dreaming. Definitely life changing
