So as of right now, I pretty much accept every pending request to join the group, the amount of people that have joined and have not posted or commented or interacted is pretty high, I get some people are just trying to get a feel of the group maybe before they post or interact or see what it’s about maybe, but I would really like to get the membership activity up in this group. I feel like there’s so much potential that we’re not reaching and I guess that falls on me, I wish there was a board or open group chat we could all join and just have frequent conversations today or every so often. I will say that there’s plenty of you in this group that’s in the same boat as me doing better or worse, does help and bring some level of comfort and hope. thanks for being awesome you guys just keep on keeping on

Welcome to our group~! Congratulations Izzy~! I'm glad we are all here.
I had a using nightmare this morning, been over 20 years since I drank. I poured a huge glass of Tanqueray at a high school reunion party.
I think the nightmare means I must be vigilant against the disease of addiction. There are a few things bothering me I don't want to accept. I went to a meeting last night, saw some old friends. I will chair my NA homegroup this morning. Step 9 is our topic today. Looking forward to seeing my loved ones. We will pray together. The World needs our prayers more than ever today. It's a gorgeous day, so I will walk to the meeting. So many gifts~!
God grants me the serenity to accept the things I can not change. The courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

Keep Coming Back!!! Preved

Hello to everyone in the group.
My last day of use was the 25th of December of 2014. So this December I'll be 10 years sober.
My life was always around the drug lifestyle, not with my family, but with the place I grew up, so living that life behind was quite difficult. Sooo,
-Was it difficult to achieve ? YES
-Is it impossible? NO
-Was it worth it? Heeeell Yeees!!!
I'm a happy man today and was given a beautiful family.
Soon I will write my story to give some hope to those who feel like there's none. If you're alive you can do it. Peace.

I am kind of quiet but I also am working my ass off right now. I recently switched to night shift. I work 7p-7am and trying to pull 60 hrs a week while making time to train is about all I can do. The worst part about it is I can't get the proper sleep because I have to get up a few times to take breathalyzer tests, lol. Oh well, that is what happens on your 3rd dui and I am lucky I am not in prison or something so I have nothing to complain about in the big picture but I appreciate those regular contributors.

Well I guess if the 12 Steps don't keep you sober that breathalyzer will do!!! Lol Great to hear from you Bro Good

Is that what they make you do if you get caught multiple times over there drink driving?

bdub73's picture

Oh no, let me very clear about this. In my personal experience, no breathalyzer or any consequences or the threat of jail ever kept me sober and I personally found out, outside solution, like working out or a girlfriend for example couldn't either. For me it was an inside job -- which working those 12 steps with a sponsor was my solution. This breathalyzer is just the legal consequences I have to complete from my last DUI if that helps. No breathalyzer ever kept me sober, that is just silly, lol.

So is it a remote device that reports back if you are drinking then? Then the SWAT team come and arrest you?! lol

bdub73's picture

Yes, and it's shoot first ask questions second, lol. It's just a condition of my 18 months of probation. I can petition the court to have that removed if I don't have any violations and I have all my fees paid up to date so it should be removed in August/September.

Buddy it has kind of always been like that, when I use to let the pending requests in you will maybe get 1 person introduce themselves for every 50 you let in, sometimes there will be a few hundred and you will hear nothing. I am not sure if a large amount are Bot's joining up to the site in general and are applying for the group, not quite sure how that all works or what they are capable of. This use to frustrate me too, because EVERYONE see's the posts when you do a new post generally, but many hang back and do not comment. I'm not asking for everyone to write a 20 line paragraph to say what they have been doing lately, but it would be nice to see everyone that see's the page to say a brief 'Hello and a quick few lines on how they are doing Smile
