+ 39 Kidney & Liver Supplements list

ad

I thought it would be helpful to both New guy's and established members to have a list of Health supplements that are easy to view all on one page that help the Liver & Kidney's and the best dose to take them at for this purpose. As someone who has had extremely high Liver values in the past from Not taking supplements while on gear - as I simply thought they didn't really do much, I can honestly say they will make a huge difference between feeling well and healthy on cycle or possibly ending up in the ER like I did with crippling stomach pains.

Its often stressed that maintaining a Healthy Liver is the most important thing while on cycle especially if you like your orals or Toxic oils such as Trenbolone, BUT equally if not more important is also running a healthy set of Kidneys as if these start to decline its a spiralling path of no return generally as they cannot regenerate and repair themselves like the liver can - I have seen cases where people have managed to get their Kidney filtration rates (GFR) back up from dire levels and Creatinine levels down unfortunately you can never fully restore them back to original health unless you get a Kidney transplant. Never think this won't happen to me either as I have seen many stories of guys ending up on Dialysis machines because of years of High Blood Pressure, never ending trenbolone cycles, High blood sugar resulting in Diabetes and not drinking enough to keep the kidneys flushed and hydrated.

It can be very easy to get into taking supplements to counteract the toxic sides of steroids, and then end up taking so many different ones that you can forget to keep buying or taking the original ones that you started out on which are often the most effective ones so I thought having this list makes it easy to have a check on. Hope this helps someone out there Smile If there are some that I have missed please feel free to add them in the comments and I will add to the list.

Although some of these supplements may seem a little exotic and you may have never heard of them before, they can all be found online to buy on places like Ebay / Amazon, My protein, Peak supplements, Bulk powders etc. Its also worth noting that with many of the above that what will work well for one organ will also work well for the other.

Is there any that should never be mixed together?

I never got round to trying out those injections, but I have a few pals who did. I believe the body uses Glutamine, Glycine and NAC to produce it - at least that's why I remember buying glycine a while back anyway lol

I love this list. It’s great to see so many people on here using natural supplements. There are so many benefits with comparatively few sides - and it seems that new high quality studies are always coming out with new findings about their benefits. I love mushrooms, beetroot, turmeric & many of the other things mentioned here. I love iodine as well, as it detoxifies the body of heavy metals (which may be in UGL products from time to time) & is great liver, kidney and brain support. Great for the nervous system also.

Ever use dandelion?
Milk thistle is one I'm not a fan of for the androgen receptor blocking effect.

We made a honey out of just the flowers and believe it or not it was very sweet. And you're right about the MK

Does dandelion wine count?

press1's picture

The place I buy my supps from does Dandelion capsules & powder - I will probably try some on my next order. Some people say it can sting when you take it though?! Not sure if thats just a wind up lol

I use dandelion extract as a natural diuretic during a prep but never really considered it for liver health.

Damn you are right too, looks like quite a lot also. Zinc is also another one that does it! 2 things I take a lot of. Astragalus root is supposed to be pretty good for the liver and I routinely take that ED so I may just drop the MT for a few weeks and see if I notice any difference in strength, I always notice in strength logs if things have a marked effect or not. Thanks for pointing that out Uncle Good

So effectively - are we saying it could render one of the great properties of something like trenbolone virtually useless? https://academic.oup.com/carcin/article/22/9/1399/2608143

@HanginLow / @Gh0st what's your take on this Bud?

I would not read too far into that study, looks like a meta study that is outlining other cell studies that were done with silymarin

the analogy I like to use is the sinking of the titanic

is the titanic not going to sink because you took out 3 deck chairs?
@UncleYoked

the reduction in anabolism is neglectable and not even a given as we would need repeated human studies to show this, in vivo not in vitro

@UncleYoked my 2c on the issue but I will agree that for general liver detoxification I would use a combination of NAC and TUDCA and leave MT behind simply on potency and mechanism of action (least effective of the 3)

NO NO NO!!! THE TITANIC DOESN'T SINK BECAUSE JACK & ROSE ARE IN LOVE - DON'T RUIN IT!

LOL But this ship can't sink!!! Oh I assure you she can sir, and she will ....

LMAO I use to love that Film, Kate Winslet was gonna become my wife and everything back then lol Yeh I've started taking BCAA's again and was just googling them and that popped up so figured I'd stick it in. I bought some EAA's also but I always did well on BCAA's on top of the usual shakes so I figure if it works why change it?!

Nac and tudca are my go to. liv52 is just icing but at least it's easy to take

press1's picture

So I wonder if MT also stops the Steroids increasing the number of androgen receptors too, as well as upregulating them? Shok Press throws all bags of milk thistle immediately in the bin ......

I've heard something about that before, so is that why I'm not F'Kin massive then?! LMAO

I have read in the past that BCAA's can help the Liver but never really took much notice, recently I have just come across how good they are again:

BCAAs were reported to stimulate the production of hepatocyte growth factor[13]. Taken together, these findings indicate that supplementation with BCAAs, by reducing hepatocyte apoptosis and promoting liver regeneration, may result in rapid recovery from liver injury. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov)

BCAA treatment induced the activity of AMPK which downregulated lipogenesis-related enzymes such as fatty-acid synthase (FAS) and acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC), and improved fat accumulation in the liver. (www.nature.com)

The results of BCAA supplementation were quite dramatic. Blood levels of a liver enzyme called AST, which rises as liver damage intensifies, were an average of 22% lower for the group given BCAAs than for the control group. And levels of the CTGF protein, a marker of liver scarring, were an average of 75% higher in the control group. (www.aminoco.com)

Yessir. My brother has non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (pre-cirrhosis) & BCAAs is something he takes to support his liver & kidney health. There are many high quality studies that seem to prove their effectiveness. I don’t see much value in them for general muscle building, so I was pleasantly surprised to find how well they support Salome of our internal organs.

Picked up a bottle of some cycle support which actually contained a boatload of all the stuff you mentioned here at the recommended doses.

I was surprised to see all the stuff in it and the dosages are not just window dressing.

Saw those and was impressed with all it had in it. Wasn’t sure if it was worth the extra expense, since my diet stays pretty good and already vitamin supplement as needed and stay away from the oral gear. Guess I’ll see what my next CMP says.

Its amazing the amount of people that I have now come across that take Astragalus root - I'd never even heard of it before Hangin Low and Ghost told me about it. Tonnes of people have said it has improved creatinine and Cystatin C levels. Wish I had been taking it years ago now lol

Makwa's picture

You are not taking all of that stuff are you?

press1's picture

I actively use around half of it everyday now, its more just to show people whats available to use that helps and in what dosages it has been proven to help in studies. I do know there is debate as to how safe herbal supplements are and if they can cause more harm than good to some organs. I have tried to go with the ones that seem to have good safety records and have been used for many years rather than new additions.

I like Inositol, works well for insomnia too. Doesn't give you a hangover effect like most sleep aids. Also, desiccated Beef Liver & Kidney improve organ function.

Its a funny one isn't it as its basically Vitamin B8 and a sugar Lol In terms of things that make you feel tired Grape seed extract does that to me and the first few times I took it I really felt it drop my blood sugar.

I might have a couple in mind, there is more supplement + AAS studies than I realized. When digging for the EQ topic I just posted I came across a bunch, maybe we could collab on a bigger post with some citations and rank least to most effective.

I nearly included Heart supplements in this one also but it took me quite a bit of time to put together double checking all the doses were correct as I can't afford to get sued Lol

A lot of the herb based supplements I buy now I get from Peaksupps in the UK who are a proper street based shop with quality products. I have had some things off EBay from these unknown brands and with things like Milk Thistle they clearly weren't what they were supposed to be - tasted nothing like it or had the same effects when taking it. So check for reviews and good product feedback also/high numbers sold etc. The Curcumin I take has Bioperine in it for better absorption, no ginger though but I have seen it in other capsules.

Thats Really interesting buddy about the Melatonin?!! Never ever heard of that before it being an antioxidant Smile Only reason I have never tried that stuff is the stories I have seen about it making people feel sickly and being difficult to eat on - not sure if this is dose dependant? I can easily get hold of some to try though.
