Like most people, I really dont know what my bf% is. I estimate it roughly around 12%. Who the fuck knows, might be 15%. I posted a picture about a month ago, nothing special, no prep work, no dehydration, just boom here it is. I can keep this level pretty easy year round. I feel good mentally and physically with a bit more fat for sure. My body/brain seem to relax when I'm not cutting or counting every calorie.
Of course, I can do a moderate cut for 8 weeks and trim this down, but ultimately my bloodwork is not really any better and I'm a bit on edge. Sub 10% for me is like having another full time job full of stress, I'll pass!
8% is achievable and sustainable if you keep it balanced. You can live life, do things in moderation, and stay warm in winter. (Being sub 10 in winter sucks) Being at 8 just feels right tho for me. Plus I like a craft beer and chicken wings every now and again. So I can dial it back when needed and then also enjoy life too
99% of people think they know how actually 8% looks like, its not! 8% is not sustainable imo and is very hard
I was shredded and used to think im 8%, well after dexa i was 13 ffs, 8% is not what u think it is!!!
No I get that, but I’m saying you can stay fairly ripped and have cheat meals. You have to manage it is all. I stay about 15 these days and stay happy. I know several fitness
Models that stay sub 10 and fluctuate but live their life
Until they prepare for a shoot or whatever
Even though I'm about a cheeseburger away from a dad bod, I identify as a ripped viking god!
I feel you bro...idk why but i feel like my endurance is better at work when im holding a slight bit more fat...like my blood sugar is more stable when i cant eat...
trash300I'm good , from old studies I know 6-8 is perfect
Molinin302Reading this makes me feel ok about the Popeyes chicken I ate yesterday.
Right!! I'm athletic not fat...its like them dating sites that ask you to describe yourself average isn't average anymore because that's overweight now days..
Forgot to state genetics makes a great difference in what body fat percent you can naturally hold my lifting buddy walks around shredded year round without an ounce of fat on him when he bulks he doesn't gain fat. Plenty of lifters around like him can stay 10 percent or lower year round healthy and fit as a fiddle. Genetics are important
Hell yea I can dig it....now the question is whats your opinion on genetics vs work ethic? Do you think one will trump the other or do you believe they work in unison?
Short answer is genetics wins all day as a midget is not going to win the olympia but my long answer is yes you can out work genetics but you can't have rubbish genetics yourself depends on your goal a guy with no legs won't walk again how he used to but he might have a goal of 12 pull ups which he can accomplish with some practice if he wants it enough he could beat most other men
Hell yea lol...makes me think of a guy at my gym with one leg thats in better shape than alot of guys that go there..
Genetics with discipline is dangerous, look at like of phil and big ramy. If applied right, it can cause alot of damage on stage.
Hell yea I agree...
