DHT Derivatives, Prostate and Saw Palmetto
ad
I know a lot people on here recommend Saw Palmetto to save your prostate. A lot of people complain of a swollen prostate especially when running DHT derivatives. Why is it recommended to take Saw Palmetto when taking DHT derivatives. I thought SP works like finasteride in that it prevents the conversion of test to DHT. If you're taking DHT derivatives and have a swollen prostate, how does Saw Palmetto help your prostate?

To get best results it needs to be preloaded 3 weeks b4 you start any dht run during and after, its supposed to act as a natural anti imflammatory to the prostate glands therfore reducing swelling etc, it doesnt work for everyone so be careful!
I'm one who doesn't care for Saw Palmetto, EVERYTIME I have used it,,Ive gotten gyno symptoms (sore, sensitive, itchy nipples)
Interesting to hear that you are getting gyno symtoms on saw palmetto - not sure if related, but it's the same with finasteride, if I'm taking that with high test cycles, I have also to take much more AI.
so how do you protect your prostate when on dht derivatives?
Not much to do other then drop them. Your health is more important so if something is causing you issues time to drop it.
Gotcha
It's beeing written everywhere if you search for prostate hyperplasia:
Tadalafil 5mg/day does the trick as well - if you need/want to avoid saw palmetto or finasteride (and other 5a-reductase inhibitors).
