low fat milk/ pbnj while cutting

ad

Is low fat milk bad to drink while on a cut? I have been attempting to cut but so far its been unsuccessful. My diet for the most is pretty good. The only things I eat and drink on a daily basis that im not sure of if its good for me or not is peanut and jelly with whole grain bread and low fat milk. I have this everyday sometimes twice and im beginning to think this is the culprit for my unsuccessful cut.

Switch over to almond milk instead. PB & J probably not the best thing to be eating. Drop the jelly. It is loaded with simple sugars that will screw up your insulin and the only type of PB you should be eating would be the all natural. Most of the PB you buy is loaded with sugar also which will again wreak havoc with your insulin and hamper your fat loss. If you just can't go without your PB&J the only time you should eat it would be immediately after a workout where you could make use of the simple sugars. I still wouldn't recommend it though if you are serious about cutting since there are much better options out there.

Is there even such a thing as not natural PB? It doesn't even taste like PB should! If he has money to spend, almond butter is even tastier, but pricier. And while I agree that there are better alternatives to PB when counting carbs, having a PB sandwich after working out is quick and a great idea. I end up combining mine with honey, as that gets in a lot of both simple and complex carbs which are crucial after a workout.

Count your calories and carbs brother. Drink skim as a replacement for low fat if your macros are still not inline. If also ditch the jelly, and replace it with honey. It's a great way to get some carbs in while you're cutting, but without going overboard. Also, you say you're eating PB&J once or twice a day, but you don't elaborate. Does that mean one sand which, or eleven each sitting?

Eat whatever the hell you want, just count your calories. IIFYM(just don't take the piss)

The culprit of an unsuccessful cut is eating more or the same calories that you're burning off in a day, simple as - eat less
