Quads not firing
ad
Did legs (squats )yesterday and my quads would not get a pump or help get the weight up. My hams and glutes did all the work, quads basically just stabilized my body
I stopped trying after 10 reps @ 275 set 3.
Only after I switched to leg press and very close feet position my quads started working hard.
This is first time in 13 years that something like this happened.
Anyone have same experience ?
Thanks

I think what you are saying is that doing the stuff you normally do that the feeling is much different. If that's the case I would try again in a day or so. If your muscle truly isn't firing properly then you should go have it checked out as it could be a nervous system issue.
Slow down the eccentric portion of the lift and elevate your heels with a 5 or 10lb plate. Try for at least a 4 sec negative. If you really want them to burn do reps with a 6 sec eccentric and a 6 sec concentric. You will be using much less weight so really focus on form.
I am going to try this then finish off with Super sets Ace suggested.
Ace VenturaMaybe your quads are already huge enough.
How about the hack squat machine with feet narrow and low on the platform. To three heavy sets, followed by three lighter sets on the leg extension. Burn them shits out
My legs are not huge by any means, just big enough to fill in size 34x34 and get weird looks from people.
I am going to try that super set.
Leg extensions always get mine pumping
RustyhookerAgree! Bust em hard on extensions then hit the stacks. Warms up my old knees too. I do sets of 8x15 for quads.
