ULTIMATE FIGHTER EBC? NOOKA WHAAAAAAAAAT?

ad

Ok my lil eroidz bebies an idea popped into my head last night. Well....truth is CarlosDanger Whispered it in ny ear last night while we enjoyed mimosa's fire pit side at my penthouse rooftop here in Dallas. Dont ask questions he is a passionate man when the moment is right! No mas homo senor Carlos!

So heres the initial thought and while it would only be a trial run "if" we do it we talked about pairing a coach and contestant Ultimate Fighter Syle. The coach would likely be accomplished such as with ulfimate fighter but what that qualification would be is up for discussion. In fact, the point of this thread is to discuss the entire thought top to bottom. Please do not use the thread for UF banter in general...if you must do so start another thread. Not in off topic but on nobodygivesafuk.com

Ok...lets talk and no karma here for me but feel free to hit Carlos early and often. He is my right hand wifh the EBC and a good friend aside of this site...good people!

Let the chatter begin and please stay on topic!

Btw...this would be a trial endeavour in addition to the reg EBC and coach and contestant would win together.

Totally agree. My bud was just gunna wing it. He didn't hire coaches or anything. But came and asked me a few questions for how to handle his last week correctly. I couldn't answer them. But luckily LevelUp could. He definitely cleared up some misinformation for my friend.

This is brilliant! I would definitely sign up for this! Talk about making Eroids the premier fucking AAS board!

Where do I sign up?

Honestly I don't know that the logistics would be all that difficult. One thing you would have to think about is a way to penalize people who drop (coach or competitor). Coaching someone for a comp is NOT easy. I've coached my wife through 4 shows, trust me I know. Funny thing is when it comes to myself, I don't take my own advice. Constantly doubt myself.

I do think this should be an annual event though. Make it all the more special and I think it would be easier on everyone. There are a ton of guys (and gals) that have proven themselves on stage, that still compete. I would love to see those folks act as coaches but with their own careers and competitions it would be hard for them to do it 2 or 3 times a year. This isn't to discredit the huge brain trust we have here that don't compete. Those folks would be great judges too.

Another thing to think about is matching up coaches with competitors. Maybe have the competitors lay out their goals, stats, experience, etc. Then, with the oversight of the EBC board, let the coaches choose who they want to work with. Even possibly lay out a list of the coaches and let the competitors list several they would like to work with. I'm rambling now...

So the concept would be for someone who is accomplished to take one, flabby, malnourished, under trained, clueless, old men on TRT and turn them into Viking?

Fantastic!

Talking points:

Coaches could be Pros, Gurus, and Prior winners of the EBC.
I would say that although the "student" would be doing the heavy lifting, the "prize or honor should go to the coach. The "student" will have benefited from what amounts to a personal trainer.
The "coach" probably should be able to take more than 1 student at a time but only be able to put forward one star pupil.

I think it sounds like a lot of fun. You could have teams underneath coaches. I am not sure how one could go about an elimination process or if that would even be the best way (maybe individual as well as team oriented goals?). Lot's of potential in it for sure.

One of the things that the UFC does is it picks fighters who have already proven themselves to be committed to the lifestyle. I have been to a few selection competitions with a friend who is a top trainer. They do this to assure that the guys or girls really want it. Does not always work because people have psychological issues that come out later but it is still the best way.

I think you can do that here fairly easily by picking men or women that have been constant in their progress and taking sound advice producing the fruit of it. Since this is a specialty competition and in staying with the spirit of the UF you would want people with somewhat of a proven record. Otherwise these advance coaches may want to fry their ass for apathy.

I am humbled and sincerely grateful for your compliment! Clearly being accepted in a world and lifestyle I have come to cherish is the best. Especially coming form the OG Original Guru! If it wasn't for your protocol for aromasin use who knows by now how crazed and full of self importance my posts would have come out! Smile Truly I am honored!

That is sound logic bro. But I also think that there should be some wildcards (unproven/out of shape), if a coach can make something of the wildcard it would be pretty big. Maybe have each team draft one wildcard?

Darktide's picture

Yeah I agree the wildcard is a great idea!

Pale's picture

Thanks Tread. I assume there would have to be a draft of available contestants. Also a decision on whether you want to do a one on one (coach/competitor) or team with a coach (seems more efficient).

Next would be deciding whether the team stays intact for the entire competition, or whether there is eliminations. It would be simpler to run all the way to the end, but I could see some excitement generated by eliminations.

There are really a ton of variables here. It would be kind of fun to have some of the guys that really need the coaching get in the game. Obviously a point system rewarding coaches that picked harder cases would be a plus.

Greg's picture

As I stated above. IMO, the coach should make his own eliminations, Makes the logistics of judging less of a pain and puts another level of skill on the shoulder of the coach, i.e., he's manufactured several good candidates; each with their own strengths...can he select a winner?

Wildcards look good and sound good but how many Wildcards will not finish like many don't every single EBC

In my opinion, all the more interesting...

Pale's picture

I agree with Greg too. The coaches should do their own eliminations, hell he/she could let the team vote out a slacker per week or two..

Even the definition of "wildcard" could be fine tuned. Is it a total basket case? Or maybe just someone that has never competed in EBC? Point is there are lots of variables to sift thru.
