2011 NFL thread

ad

I wanted to start up a thread for the NFL as I'm sure there's planty of fans on this board. With the NFL finially back it looks like the AFC East and NFC east have some powerhouse teams.

The New York Jets look sick in the East but you can't count out the Patriots who picked up C.O. The pats second and third stringers smoked the Jags and put up record numbers already and they do have the best QB in the game (arguably).

Philly is a team to watch as well as Tampa Bay....anyway post away I know it's only pre-season but there's a lot to post about here.

My New England Patriots at it again
How many parades can Boston handle gd

i am disapopijnted in Phili right now. they cant seem to stay consistant. may be coaching. vick is the man but also cant stay consistant. tampa is a younge team that has a ways to go. i am a MONEY fan so really be am a team whore, i take the team thats gonna win me money, i have no true loyalties. loyalties are earned not given by me and no NFL team is sending me checks so i bet where i can win money and that changes from week to week.

LIONS UNDEFEATED! You have no idea how long I've waited for this haha. Hopefully they can keep that up today!

Well not anymore

OnSomeHulk's picture

Damn, it was a good run and it will be a good season regardless. Detroit had some great sports going and it seemed like it all dropped with the tigers and the lions loss.

Shifty1921's picture

Well the pistons are far from good and they are an old team. It's not like it was when the were winning with Wallace, Billups, Hamilton, and prince

Pats fucked up them raiders Wowowowow

i have a real honest question that i have mixed feelings about...what percentage of nfl players you think are using gear. Do they just cycle it right to were wen testing comes around there clean because they time there cycle just right...ive played football most my life. 4 years in college. never hit gear till semi-pro. college we just couldnt do it...we were in great shape...but wen you look at guys that make that transition from college to the league dudes just blow up...im sure the lifting is much more intense...but?? ive always wondered...

Shifty1921's picture

They test year round and its supposedly random testing so they can't just work their cycles around the testing. I know the NFL is starting to test for HGH as soon as next week. But I have also heard there isn't a way to know for sure if someone is using GH if there hormone levels stay at a constant, but I may be wrong there. But to answer the problem I would say 65% or so of them take something that is banned by the league.

Eminemsroyaltys's picture

Great question. My thoughts are that some do and some don't. Rodney Harrison of the patriots was caught with a shit load of HGH. I know for him it was introduced due to a nagging injury. The other side of the coin with him is most likely he was juicing and was busted and found hgh realizing it could help better with that nagging injury and be undetectable. I use him as an example because not only was he an all pro and superbowl winner (and now tv analysist), but that he was CAUGHT ordering hgh which makes me realize that guys were doing roids and for reasons 1) it's safer w less sides 2) undetectable 3) can and should be taken year round etc they decided to go with hgh. I really do believe the league cracked down on it because now they are testing for HGH so obviously they know what's going on.

I'd say they cycle according to piss tests not really according to the schedule because as "tough on roids" the NFL may or may not be I'm guessing players are told months in advance of when they will be tested.

Brady named AFC player of the week again which makes it 2 weeks in a row.

FreshSqueezedJuice's picture

E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES! lol but its looking like this is the year for the big trophy! Best Eagles team i've seen my entire life... If the Offensive line protects Vick, thats the only weak spot i can see on the team

Eminemsroyaltys's picture

Problem w Vic is that he's waaaaay too impulsive
He'd be a great flag football player but this is the NFL and he will either leave games hurt or have like 4 pick off's a game.

Eminemsroyaltys's picture

Who do you see as taking the AFC?

Eminemsroyaltys's picture

That coaches software link /ad on this page is pretty fucking nice

Eminemsroyaltys's picture

Raiders looked good that first half...any team that can run with the Saints that long has definitely got something going on.

Eminemsroyaltys's picture

Good game tonight but I have to say that the pats showed up ready for a scrimmage and Detroit played this like a superbowl game lol...pats were missing their O line and honestly had this been a reg season game it would of been a pats win. However I like Deteoits tenacity and they look pretty good...been a loooong time for them to be "pretty good," so expect a nice winning season lions fans, maybe even a playoff birth!

Eminemsroyaltys's picture

They seem to be able to and the pats were crucified on the local sports stations so that fan base apparently is worried. It's up in the air again this year....go Vic!
Tonight should be good lol fuckin Oakland...haha wonder if there will be any shootings, then again that was the 49-ers park. Sad to see those two teams shut the bed and have that black eye added on...9-ers were gods with Montanna aka Tom Brady SR, and Oakland has a great history...#34 was and always be my fav Bo Jackson!

Any thoughts on Chad Ochocinco getting the groove at New England? That team has easily the most complicated play book in the game. Jermaine Wiggens was on 98.5 the sports hub talking about how they use plays like "banana, orange, nectarine with joker 6-4-9," and all those things are ONE play that is known as other things as well like "banana, nec, etc" I can't even explain it. Even Brady said that for 12 years he's been baffled at it and cringes web he gets the new playbook. Fucking Bill Bellicheck haha.

Eminemsroyaltys's picture

Pats vs Lions tomorrow 8pm!
Brady and his crew look fucking scary last week and their defense is just plain nasty. I'm calling for pats as superbowl contenders.

Eminemsroyaltys's picture

Detroit is comming up big in MLB right now and I'd love to see the Lions do well...who did they get I'm the offseason? Fucking Dallas looks legit too

Eminemsroyaltys's picture

Jackson has way too much hype...Da' Bears look ok and honestly any team can win as long as they make the playoffs. Brady is kind of sick of the Jets being so good the past few years, everybody talks about them and the pats don't get as much hype with a pretty equal team.

How bout them Raiders lol

kwabby6's picture

Definitely looking like the Patriots for me. Im from Chicago and a Bears fan but Im tired of the let downs. They remind me of Naps lol. Also agree with Philly being a team to watch for but whats all the hype with Desean Jackson?

FreshSqueezedJuice's picture

Jackson is just another pre-modonna wide reciever.... he is holding out because he is in his last year of his rookie contract, but how come Adrian Peterson is in the last year of his rookie contract and just recently had a kid and he can still make it to camp? Jacksons a pre-madonna
