Mine is normally below 150.
I am under the impression that when hpta is shut down via lengthy exogenous test administration the effects on the male are like menopause on the woman. Therefore, creating changes in lipids secondary to decreased/no LH production, decreased estradiol, increased LDLs, increased TGs and cholesterol. LH is important for hair, nails, etc. My guess is that LH and HDL have a relationship. HCG mimics LH and i believe small doses of this will help some people's lipids.

You asked how to lower bad cholesterol, which is the right question to ask. I know there are a lot of people on the organic kick and that is fine but most of what you see in stores are gimmicks. Most of what you see as organically grown is distributed by the same companies that sell the pesticide stuff. So, if that is the route you want to take, then the only way to make sure is to grow your own.
But you don't really have to go to all that extreme on anything. Reducing LDL can be done by avoiding the foods that produce LDL, exercising properly, and then helping the body with Niacin and Omega 3. Plain and simple. The biggest thing is to avoid the simple sugar and anything that is remotely tied to corn. I was a chronic over 230+ on total cholesterol with 150+ LDL. I took statins which did lower my LDL to below 40 (and my total below 100), but the side effects to your body are very harsh and it also lowered by Testosterone level. So I stopped taking the statins, became very particular at what I ate, got my body in better shappe, and took the supplements. My LDL now sits between 60-70 (total 130) and my testosterone level increase 50%. And it do not particularly pick out organic food even though I avoid anything that appears modified to a great extent.
Thanks Gary.
1 Cholesterol is not the problem, it is the solution. You body makes testosterone and a slew of other hormones from it (Vitamin D included!!). Also It is your bodies natural repair substance for the circulatory system. The problem is inflammation and damage to your artery walls. When that happens the body responds by making more cholesterol and patches up the damage. Repeated exposure to the same area and like spackle on a wall building up it eventually blocks. Unless you address the real problem, lowering Cholesterol will only make you sick and weak.
That being said, you want to avoid foods that have enzyme inhibitors, preservatives, soy, seed oils, sugars, white breads and crap with pesticides and what not. These are inflammatory and cause the problems. Animals that are fed unatural diets will produce meats void of any micronutrients as well. So its not the fat in your steak, its the diseased animal they slaughtered to give you protein.
Lowering LDL is meaningless, if your HDL is high you can have a total upwards of 5-600 and not have any problems whatsoever. (i have a 78 year old friend who is spry and strong as heck whose Cholesterol was over 700!! They made him take meds to lower it despite him having no artery damage or build ups and he's down to 500 and said he feels more tired from the meds)
Saturated fats being bad is another misconception. Saturated fats from sources that are natural contain massive amounts of omega 3 and other nutrients that will boost HDL. (chickens are not vegetarians they eat bugs and worms. Cows eat grass, not corn and candy and chicken feces, etc. )
If on TRT that means your body is not converting the already present Cholesterol to testosterone so all the more reason to reduce inflammation and get your HDL up.
The question you should be asking should be how do I increase HDL not lower cholesterol. HDL goes up from eating the right foods taking omegas is ok, but you can get off balance if you take too much, you need a balance of all omegas 3,6,9 etc. which comes from eating right. The reason Americans show improvement from taking omega 3's at first is because their bodies are so off balance and starved of omega 3's in the first place.
+2!! Great tidbit of info there....
Great post there. There's a lot of myths and opinions on cholesterol, and your post is spot on.
QtripsI'm experimenting with niacin and cayenne. My numbers aren't good either. It'll take a while to improve, but I should be getting these checked in a month or so and will report if these have helped.
To lower the cholesterol (BAD ONE) i would say that number one u need to eat clean... no saturated fats in the diet will help ALOT. And in return u should eat fish oils, nuts, seeds and vegetable oils like olive oil.
Fibre can also help u alot mate they also help lowering bad cholesterol look for oats, beans and some fruits and vegies!
