Supplements

ad

So a few years ago amongst Admin and Mods there was talk of adding in supplements to the site at some point. The site continues to grow and might be something in the future that would benefit all, a sort of all your shopping done in one place. So im wondering if there is anybody amongst us that has experience in selling supplements? the ins and outs of it sort of speak, how to go about carrying products, cant be to damn hard theres people on ebay and amazon doing it all day long. and maybe would you buy from an eroids shopping center?

Be real careful with this.. a real business from gives the law boys a real target to go after for the rest of it. Not to mention, I cant imagine there are many supps other than protein, creatine and liver support that gearheads are gunna be interested in cuz the rest of it is just trying to mimic what gear does.

Broctavius's picture

Really? A legit business would get attention from the law? There are tons of legit businesses on this site that sell medical supplies and research Chemical companies that are registered in their state as legitimate businesses. I know plenty of folks that buy supplements vitamins liv support protein creatine nitric oxide etc etc. Of course nothing matches gear but supplements have their place. Just get a subsidiary that operates through the site you won't have any trouble at all.

oversteerisbest's picture

My understanding was that the owners of the site were going to sell supplements directly from the site, rather than offer a supplement source section.

Broctavius's picture

Oh I understand now. That makes alot more sense.

It is not hard. Just setup a merchant account with whatever companies you want to carry. You get a discount for first order then the longer and more you buy you get better discounts. The only issue is being connected with this site and being a legit business LE will know who you are. I would buy suppliments if they are a good deal from merchant on here. Too paranoid to open something like that myself unless I didn't juice. This would be a great opportunity for someone who doesn't juice so nothing to hide. They would probably make bank. Just my 2 cents on this =))

Well me personally since I have came to trust eroids so much that level of trust would definately have to carry over to the supplements. But if this went "big" then what would happen to other sources websites? Could possibly draw the wrong attention. And how deep are we talking in terms of supplements? Just your basics ot like full blown vitamins antioxidants etc specialties. I would buy from the store but it better be quality unlike body fortress or six star walmart shit lol :X

Problem with wholesale is packaging! Yea it's cheaper to buy 50lbs of whey but....how would they package it, buncha eroid tranny sex slaves in a sweat shop....( I picture buncha bb's in skimpy pink and yellow banana hammock with doctor masks cutting up protein with pank at the dj booth blasting techno and noid bangin drums like roman rowers... But seriously how would you sell individualized packages or 5 or even 10 lbs if your buying it by the hundred....

Darktide's picture

No you can buy the brand name products whole sale like GNC does with a state tax #. You don't need to by bulk unmarked products to have wholesale prices

thepullmanator's picture

Oh cool the disregard my above statement....except the tranny sex slave thing....let that just sink it a bit

Darktide's picture

except the tranny sex slave thing

Lmao

j223's picture

i like the idea. if there was protein for sale here and it was a similar price to what i get at local supplement store I'd buy from here instead

As much as I agree with most (if not all) of the CONS shared below lest we forget that ppl are generally lazy and if it were available here then a % of members would purchase for reasons of convenience, loyalty to the board, as well as, many of the guys here don't know the "what's" of supplements nevermind the "where"... if there were a contingency of speak specifically on supps and a direct src to them it may help with the overall education of the board (How many others believe creatine and vits are all there is?)

cmo25cent's picture

It just my opinion but the site is good the way it is. You bring in products like that then there will be even more drama.

Roid Noid's picture

this is more or less the fear of getting into it just to find out its not worth it. the main thing here seems like what can it be got at? so first off would be HOW to get it? then once we know we can get it at what price, from there we could start searching to find IF we could be competitive with the market and make a profit worth doing it.

kodiakGRRL's picture

call the company.. they will tell you who their distributors are in the area... you call one or all of them and see what kind of pricing they will give you .. most will drop ship orders for you ... you decide if it is worth it

Darktide's picture

Companies when they sell products give a book to the wholesale buyer. It gives you the suggested retail price, every well known retailer usually sticks to that price or pretty close. So if you were to say under cut them by a dollar you would still make a very good profit but move more product. Because they need the extra for their media campaign you already have yours here in motion. So because you would not have the same overhead you have greater latitude with pricing. That is the advantage you have over the other supplement brokers.

Noid, I think Withdrawl has a supplement store or at least he's mentioned selling supplements before if I recall correctly. Maybe he could help you out brother...

kodiakGRRL's picture

has it been years? I can get you started if you want

yep time to retire!

i had a few online platforms that i used to do biz from. 99% of my sales were done online and items drop shipped directly to customer. only items i kept in stock were for promotional campaigns. profits varied depending on the product, of course, and they were much lower with this route compared to an actual storefront. overhead was low, and it let me tap into the health/fitness sector to help market my other products and services. essentially, i used it as an avenue for marketing that generated an income rather than a cost.

may be an option for you guys, at least while you trial it and see where the benefits, if any, lie. just need a wholesale distributor, or a group of franchise companies that can plug in here. banner ads and click tracking links, along with some sort of commission structure for the host (you) based on generated/directed sales volume.

so many ways...

Roid Noid's picture

drop shipping is most likely the only avenue we would take, so how did you go about getting the wholesale distributor(s)?

Doss's picture

the platform i used was more of a marketing/networking setup, so i operated under incentives like commission structures and network discounts. wholesale wasn't an option for me.

Roid Noid's picture

I would like to hear what he has to say yes

Roid Noid's picture

id really like to know what avenues are taken to get a wholesaler to agree to drop ship and allow you to sell their product via your site.

thepullmanator's picture

you talking like your favorite brands? ON, Dymatize, etc
or an eroids brand supps?

Roid Noid's picture

well thats the question now isnt it :)....how do we go about locking in those brands at a discounted price so that eroids makes enough profit to sell them at a market price.

Doss's picture

if the investment revenues are there, why not open a local storefront for smoothies and supps. put it near a corporate gym and/or university. with the storefront, you can get a wholesale license and buy in bulk. you would have a safety net, so to speak, with turning inventory at the store rather than depending solely on eroids. of course security and anonymity between store and eroids would be something to work out..

Roid Noid's picture

thats an idea there, but alot of work. however something to think about thanks.

Doss's picture

no doubt. franchise is the way to go. purchasing a system along with an established brand. it plugs you right in with a support network ranging from marketing to vendors.

Darktide's picture

The same way any other business does. I know this from other investments that I have. One is an equipment company. I won't say what but that should suffice. For me I have a state tax ID number which when dealing with other companies that sell to the average person online or in person, for me because I am a registered business I can purchase their products at wholesale rates. Then I mark them up for resale. I can play with the price and even undercut other competitors because of this.

Now if you don't have a state tax ID number which simply means you will pay the state that your company originates out of their required sales taxes on all of your purchases. Now realizing the nature of eroids I know this might not be an option. But this is how you can get any company to sell to you at wholesale rates. Depending on the company like I have an investment into a clothing store so when first making a purchase from a specific clothing supplier I had to purchase $550.00 worth of clothes to establish myself as a wholesale buyer from them. It is a one time thing though.

Roid Noid's picture

state tax! that makes sense, what if the site isnt in the states? if we used a drop shipper wouldnt it just matter if you lived in the drop shippers state?

Darktide's picture

I just contacted my business partner and yes that will work fine. It just needs to be registered with whatever state the drop shipper is in. If you need any info feel free to pm me about it, he knows all the ends and outs.
